Detox in Alpharetta, GA
Detox can be one of the most important steps when dealing with Substance Use Disorders and is often the most crucial to finding and maintaining recovery. With Outpatient Detox becoming a more popular option, Counterpoint Recovery is committed to helping you find the most appropriate and effective solution for handling this aspect of your treatment.
What is Detox?
While each person has different needs for treatment, a sudden cessation of substance use can result in moderate and even severe psychological and physical drug or alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms can be treated in an outpatient detox setting. However, severe and life-threatening withdrawal symptoms require an inpatient detox that involves round-the-clock care. Counterpoint Recovery works side by side with our most trusted partners in Georgia, all over the Southeast, and Nationwide, to ensure you and/or your loved ones are in a safe and secure environment while healing.
Detox involves the process of getting all of the drugs or alcohol out of your system after you stop using substances. Each person’s experience with this process will be different depending on a number of various factors including:
- What substance have been being abused;
- How long addiction has been on-going;
- Quantity and frequency of use;
- Method i.e. smoking, injecting, snorting, or swallowing;
- Family history of addiction;
- Medical conditions; and
- Underlying mental health concerns.

“Care and compassion from the staff is unmatched and genuine”
As a person in recovery who has been to many treatment centers I can confidently say Counter Point is the best Treatment center I have been to. The care and compassion from the staff is unmatched and genuine. I started off in IOP 5 and worked my way down to 1 day a week and completed my 90 day program. I was always involved and made aware of my treatment plan and supported through the process to accomplish my goals. Huge shout out to Conner, Brooke, Cat, Joy and Mitch. I am now 6 months clean and sober and couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to have experienced such a solid program.- Darius F. -

I can’t say enough good things about Counterpoint Recovery. Their IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) played a crucial role in helping me get sober and stay sober. The staff there are incredibly caring and supportive, treating everyone like family. The environment they create is not only professional but also full of love and understanding. It’s clear that they genuinely care about your recovery journey, and their support doesn’t just end when the session does. I’m grateful for the experience and for the people who stood by me every step of the way. Highly recommend to anyone seeking a compassionate and effective recovery program!- Michael D. -

“I have no doubt Counterpoint’s approach to addiction and mental health will help so many people”
I am a previous patient of one of the employees at Counterpoint for three years before they transitioned to this role. This therapist is one of the most talented I have ever met — they are up for any challenge, constantly expanding their personal knowledge base, and have an ability to navigate difficult conversations with ease. I can’t imagine a better person to have a part in founding a new IOP program. I have no doubt Counterpoint’s approach to addiction and mental health will help so many people, especially those who felt they have exhausted all options. Counterpoint has some amazing staff and all future clients will be lucky to find Counterpoint as their place for continued recovery.- Avery P.
